FULL - WAITLIST AVAILABLE - Dry Lake and Erickson Lake Paddle with John Bates and Mary Burns

Join the naturalist and author team, John and Mary, for this fun paddle!  Dry Lake and Erickson Lake in Vilas County are connected by a short channel, but are very different ecologically. Dry is a wild lake with no development, while Erickson has one house on it. Dry is small (40 acres more or less), very shallow overall, and is chock full of aquatic plants, while Erickson is more of a classic large Northwoods lake, 110 acres, 80% sand, and with deeper, clear water.  We’ll paddle slowly, exploring both lakes and seeing whatever the day offers in flora and fauna. While this is an easy paddle on two lakes, some experience paddling is desirable, particularly if it is a windy day.  Participants will meet at the lake, directions and a list of what to bring will be emailed prior to the program.  Canoes/PFDs provided. Registration required by 8/4.  $50 ($45 members).
