Summary

The Northwoods of Wisconsin are abundant in plant life ranging from spring ephemerals like delicate Starflowers, to towering trees like our beloved Eastern Hemlocks. In this Flora of the Northwoods hiking series, our team of naturalists will take participants out into various ecosystems to share their flora knowledge and demonstrate how vastly diverse plant life is in our region.

Description

Join Naturalist Jenna on a journey to visit the Crystal Lake Bog exploring bog flora and learn about bog succession and the ecological importance of bog plant communities. Please note that the hike to the bog is short. Transportation from North Lakeland Discovery is available. 

 

Please bring water-resistant shoes or shoes you don’t mind getting a little wet! Transportation from Discovery Center will be provided. Bathroom stop available at the Crystal Lake Ranger Station.  Registration required by 6/6/24.  $10/Members and $18/Non-Members.  Saturday 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM.
