Nibbles N’ Knowledge: Exploring Minerals, Rocks, Crystals, Agates and Thundereggs

Rock in the New Year with an introduction to minerals, rocks, crystals, agates, and thundereggs.  Doug Moore has been a rockhound for 61 years and Program Chair of the Heart of Wisconsin Gem and Mineral Scoeity since 1983. He has collected agates and thundereggs in Oregon, New Mexico, Arizona and South Dakota and the Midwest along with 31 agate-collecting trips to Gremany.  Moore is a retired academic staff and adjunct faculty member from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Learn about rock and mineral identification with specimens to examine, and even door prizes!  Bring a mystery rock to identify!    An evening of delicious nibbles and expanding your knowledge. Cash bar and complimentary appetizers from 5-6pm, program from 6-7pm.  Pre-registration required by 1/1.  Program held at Camp Jorn YMCA.  $15 ($12 members). (V)
