CANCELLED Pat Shay State Natural Area Hike with John Bates

Join Naturalist and Author John Bates as we explore yet another of our amazing state natural areas. Pat Shay Lake features a high quality, wild lake surrounded by an excellent old-growth hemlock-hardwood forest. We’ll hike about four miles on the Hidden Lakes Trail, which briefly parallels Pat Shay Lake. We’ll
hike slowly, but the terrain ribbons along up and down small hills, so participants should be in reasonable physical condition. The Hidden Lakes Trail traverses a 13-mile-long loop through and near several other State Natural Areas – we’ll access just one section of it, but a beautiful one! This program
is sponsored by the Tom and Barbara Olson Education Fund.  Pack binoculars, water, bug repellent, sunscreen and a lunch. Register by 8/22. $40 ($35 members).
