Nibbles N' Knowledge: Weathering the Ice Age - 14,000 Years of Native American History in Central WI

Ancestral Native Americans have occupied Wisconsin and the Midwest for at minimum 14,300 years, and probably much longer.  Abundant evidence from the central portion of the state reveals that Native Americans were tracking the edge of the glacial ice as it advanced and retreated through our area, following now-extinct species of Ice Age mammals, navigating paleo-shorelines, sourcing high-grade tool stone in the post-glacial landscapes across the region we call Wisconsin today.  Join Ray Reser, Director UWSP-Museum of Natural History, who, since 1985, has been conducting archaeological survey and fieldwork projects in Central Wisconsin and the Victoria River District of the Northern Territory, Australia.  This is sure to be an interesting and engaging progam that includes artifacts for you to explore.
