The History of Charles W. Nash & Nash Motors – “The Greatest Rags to Riches Story"

Join James T.W. Wheary, Great Grandson of Charles W. and Jessie H. Nash as he shares the history of Charles W. Nash, who was the first sitting president of Buick Motor Co., the first sitting president of General Motors Co, and lastly, the Administrative Head and President of his own company, Nash Motors.  In 1924, Charles W. and Jessie H. Nash purchased land along the shores of Rest Lake and established their estate known as Rest Camp (now Camp Jorn).  Along with this fascinating family history, James will also share his memories of Rest Camp.  The program will be held at Camp Jorn in Manitowish Waters. The event includes a reception with hors d’oeuvres and refreshments.  The evening is sponsored by Camp Jorn, North Lakeland Discovery Center, Friends of the Koller Library, and Manitowish Waters Historical Society.  Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the Frank B.
