Description

Join retired history teacher and Manitowish Waters Historical Society member Jim Bokern for an evening discussion on our area’s unique environmental legacy. Diverse environmental stewardship and conservation are strong traditions that began during the earliest days of Manitowish Waters. Beginning in 1912 with the opening of the first forest ranger stations in the state, and continuing today with local fish management efforts, discover how the small community of Manitowish Waters has emerged as both a state and national leader in conservation efforts.

This presentation has been updated with new images and information. Join us during an evening of delicious nibbles and expanding your knowledge. Donation bar and complimentary appetizers and desserts from 5 - 6 PM, program from 6 - 7 PM.

Registration is required by November 12. Held at Camp Jorn YMCA. Thursday, 5 - 7 PM. $15 ($12 members).
