Description

Join Manitowish Waters Historical Society (MWHS) members Kay Krans and Jim Bokern on a two-hour pontoon tour of Spider and Island lakes, which will depart from the Blue Bayou. Discover the Native American cultural networks, logging camps, railroad landing, Ojibwa sugar bush, ricing areas, mysteries, unique residents, homesteads, early resorts, and businesses. While traveling along the shores of Island and Spider Lakes participants will view many unique historic sites that will be supplemented with historic images and documents. Registered participants should meet at the Blue Bayou Inn. Space is limited, so please register by 6/28. $35 ($30 members of the NLDC or MWHS).

PLEASE NOTE: Pontoon trips will have a max of 8 participants, along with a driver and program leader and it is required that you sign up in advance. It is also required that registered participants bring their own mask and wear it during the program, along with using hand sanitizer as you enter the boat. It will be best if you can sit with people you came with, socially distant from others (as best you can!). Participants will need to drive themselves to the start location of the trip (directions will be emailed prior to the trip). Do not come if you have had illness within 14 days of event (you will be able to receive a refund). NLDC reserves the right to cancel/refund if case levels significantly change and the program in deemed unsafe.

Please read our program registration and cancellation policy here.
