Solar Exploration with NASA Volunteer, Jim Head

Come explore the Sun at the Discovery Center! If it's clear we will Safely observe the Sun with a 6" Solar Telescope. We will demonstrate, with your help, the scale of our Solar System, learn about Red Giants, White Dwarfs, and how our Sun works. Learn about the upcoming Perseid Meteor Shower. See 3D prints of Mars as viewed from the Mars Rover Curiosity, and explore real meteorites from space. Hosted by Jim Head, a NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador along with help from the Northwoods Explorers. Register by August 4. $7 ($5 members). Thursday, 1-3 pm. This program will be outside, masks are required and social distancing guidelines will be in place.
