Manitowish Waters Historic Hike and Pub Crawl

Learn about MW history and our social establishments as we hike at a leisurely pace on area trails. Using tour guide headsets participants can easily hear and learn from MWHS guides. Trail discussions will include geology, prehistoric, Ojibwa culture, logging, early resorts, guides, Rest Lake Ranger station, ecology and wildlife of the Northwoods, and more. We will stop into several local establishments for refreshments and amazing stories about our past. the route is 4.5 miles and mostly along existing trails. Pre-registration is required. $20 ($15 members of NLDC or MWHS). Registration does not include drinks or purchases from pubs along the trail.
